Nicholas Wylde
Nicholas, as Managing Director of the company, is the central figure at Nicholas Wylde (Goldsmith) Ltd. Nicholas trained to be a goldsmith at Birmingham's prestigious School of Jewellery and having worked for other jewellers as a goldsmith, he fulfilled his desire to run his own independent designer jewellers at the age of 24 by setting up Nicholas Wylde (Goldsmith) Ltd. Nicholas is now one of the leading designer jewellers in the U.K and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise regarding all aspects of the trade. Always keen to improve his own knowledge as well as that of his staff, Nicholas has recently qualified as an HRD Certificated Diamond Grader. Whenever he finds time in his busy schedule, Nicholas enjoys spending time in the workshop located below the shop. He says "Whilst I enjoy the variety involved in running a busy shop, my first love will always be the jewellers bench and the sense of satisfaction that comes from making a beautiful piece of jewellery that I know the customer will derive much pleasure from wearing".
Nick
Nick is the shop manager at Nicholas Wylde and is Nicholas's longest serving employee. Having entered the trade in 1996, Nick has gained trade qualifications along the way and enjoys all the varying aspects of this challenging position.
Sue
Having worked at Nicholas Wylde for more than six years, Sue is a self confessed jewellery addict. Working part time in the shop, she enjoys getting to know her customers and her enthusiasm for jewellery is infectious.
David
Having served an apprenticeship gaining the "Freedom of the Goldsmith Company" and the "Freedom of the City of London", David joined Nicholas Wylde in 2001. As head of the very busy workshop, David ensures the high standards in the quality of the work is maintained.
Susannah
Susannah completed a degree in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in 2003. She has a keen interest in several areas of the jewellery trade including gemstones. As well as working in the shop she also creates hew own pieces of jewellery in her spare time.
Julie (accounts)
Having worked for Nicholas for a number of years as his accountant, Julie is usually kept very busy working two days a week keeping the books in order.
Caroline
Working part-time in the office situated above the shop floor, Caroline produces the valuations for our clients and also provides secretarial support.
Rachael
Joining the workshop in 2006, Rachael previously gained a degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing at the school of Jewellery in Birmingham. Showing great ability and enthusiasm, Rachael is undoubtedly a valuable member of the workshop.
Amie
After leaving school and starting work full time in the shop in 2005, Amie has already completed and achieved high marks on the first part of her Retail Jewellery Diploma and is looking forward to embarking on the next stage. Always cheerful and friendly, Amie ensures our customers feel welcome.
Jo
Having recently joined us as a part-time sales consultant, Jo will be able to confidently assist our customers with her jewellery knowledge as she has already worked for 3 years in the trade and has also gained her JT1 certificate.
Katie
Katie joins us from a sales and marketing background. With a huge passion for jewellery, she is keen to join our sales team in assisting our customers with expert advice and service.
Corrinda
Nicholas is delighted that his sister, Corrinda, is back working in the shop, having originally helped Nicholas set up the shop over 20 years ago. With her creative talents and inspiring ideas she ensures the window displays are both refreshing and welcoming and this continues inside so that customers can browse in pleasant surroundings.
Lyn
Nicholas has known Lyn for many years and praises her highly for taking such pride in her work. As a valued member of the team she always ensures the shop is looking its' best at all times.
David Baker - Independent valuer
Having graduated in 2000 with a degree in Fine Art Valuation, David has gone on to obtain the RJDIP diploma with distinction, he is also qualified in grading diamonds (DGA) and is also a fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. David has applied to the National Association of Goldsmiths for Registered valuers status, the association he has fellowship status with. David assists us in providing our customers with quality professional valuations and identification services through his D.M.Gems business.
