A magnificent 9ct yellow gold lover’s knot style brooch emblazoned with stunning selection of our client’s stones from her unworn jewellery; these include large oval and pear shaped amethysts, a single oval cut emerald, and a scattering of grain set brilliant cut diamonds. The larger stones are both rub-over and claw set, and the illusion creating the overlap affect of the ‘knot’, and the leaves protruding up the the largest amethyst, were all created by our in-store CAD technician. This beautiful piece is a fine example of the capabilities and fantastic technology we have in the Wylde workshops.
Stones: 16 in total emerald, amethysts, and 0.25ct in diamonds, most belonging to our client.
Story: Our client came to us looking to create a very special brooch for his wife as a Christmas present. Our designer Jo sat down and discussed his ideas and together they came up with the perfect design!
We used amethysts and diamonds from jewellery Mrs Banfield had that she no longer wore, and used them in a new 9ct yellow gold bespoke creation for her. Amethyst is Mrs Banfield’s birth-stone, and Mr Banfield chose to also incorporate an emerald in the design as that is his birth-stone; in this way the brooch has elements that represent them both. Mr Banfield was also keen for the brooch to have an RAF feel to the design, as the air force has a strong role in Mrs Banfield’s personal history. Taking these personal elements Jo and Mr Banfield worked together to create this stunning winged brooch, which our talented goldsmiths and stone-setters created in our in-house workshop.
The brooch was a total surprise for Mrs Banfield, and they both are over-joyed with the final piece! It certainly is a stunning and highly personal piece of jewellery!
