Precious metals - Silver

Silver

Silver is relatively inexpensive and is used to make a wide range of jewellery. Sterling silver, which we use at Nicholas Wylde, is 92.5 % pure silver. Silver is the most reflective of the metals and the current fashion for white metals has added to its popularity. Its softness means that it is less suitable for use as a setting for stones and it will tarnish. This oxidisation can be removed by dipping the item in a cleaning liquid. We sell a very effective silver dip which will make your silver jewellery shine like new and don’t forget that we will clean any jewellery purchased at Nicholas Wylde free of charge.
