Many people have old jewellery pieces that are invested with memories of loved ones that are no longer with us. Often they languish in draws; too precious to discard but too tired and old fashioned to be worn.
What better way to keep those beloved memories alive and constant than using the old jewellery and transforming them into something modern, beautiful and unique? This is something we specialise here at Nicholas Wylde as one of our clients recently discovered:
“I came to Nicholas Wylde after my Dad and Auntie left me some rings. As these didn’t fit me they would have been left and forgotten. I brought the rings to the store to see if they could be resized so I could wear them.

While I discussed this idea with designer India, we also talked about the styles of the rings and how they weren’t really to my taste. India suggested she could redesign my rings and combine two rings into one in a modern style and also take the stone from the other ring and make it into a pendant. India showed me a selection of jewellery from your range to establish the style I was most drawn too, she then set about designing a ring that combined my grandmother’s wedding ring with my auntie’s opal cluster ring. The result is a modern style ring that uses my birthstone and reminds me of my Dad and Auntie every time I wear it.
India also designed a pendant that uses the stone from another of my auntie’s rings which I can wear every day. Instead of the jewellery sitting in a drawer, never to be worn, it has been transformed into jewellery that is unique, reminding me of my family and looks amazing.
I had never even considered that the jewellery I had been left could be used to make a unique ring and pendant before talking to India but am really pleased she did as the result is absolutely stunning.”
