Nicholas was delighted to meet the request of one of his winning customer’s in our Christmas competition. Instead of receiving the winning gift of a beautiful pearl bracelet, Mr Lee asked Nicholas whether he would consider making a donation to a very special local charity called Seals Starfish Club and Nicholas willingly met this kind request.
Seals Starfish Club provides Children and Young People with disabilities, and their families, a fun swimming experience within a hydrotherapy pool in Henleaze Bristol. The club (which was set up by parents of children with disabilities) hires the hydrotherapy pool at Claremont Primary School in Henleaze on a Saturday morning during term time. Members are families with a child who have a disability or life limiting condition. The families come from Bristol and the surrounding area for a fun swim in the hydro pool as a family. The warmth of the water is hugely beneficial for the children who attend and enables some children to achieve movements which they just can’t make on land. For others it is just a safe environment. Also offered are sessions with a physio therapist once a month so that if families want they can get ideas of exercises to do in the water. However the main thing is for the families to come and have fun.
