Best Dressed Chalet Competition

“Nicholas Wylde first started making jewellery at the age of 16 in a garden shed in his back garden, now, after 32 years in business, it looks like he was back in that shed again!”

Wylde is best known for trying something entirely new and memorable, year on year. This year, on the brink of the 20th anniversary of The Bath Christmas Market, Wylde Jewellers opened it’s very first chalet, and it has been a huge success. Pearl and cubic zirconia set, sterling silver and 9ct gold jewellery, starting at an affordable £10, were surrounded by the creative floral creations of Nicholas’ sister’s Wakefield-Wylde Floristry, making for a beautiful display of offerings that complemented each other enormously. Thousands of people flocked to the chalet having seen photos and videos of it posted online, as well as Wylde’s locally published advert featuring a miniature chalet and a tiny couple for their #WyldeMoments campaign.

People visiting the chalet commented that it had been a great opportunity to buy quality jewellery at affordable prices from an accessible and approachable brand they could rely on.

Nicholas Wylde designed the chalet to be a luxurious exhibition of the workshop’s talents, with an extra helping of these ultra-affordable stocking fillers. “Gone were the ideas of a shed in the garden, this was a grotto of goodies that no jewellery enthusiast could resist”. The brand also put a subtle trail of diamond floor stickers from the chalet to the shop for people wishing to discover the more high-priced items. The event was so busy that Nicholas himself has been known to man the stand almost every day!

The team’s efforts did not go unnoticed either. They were delighted to receive a prestigious and hugely gratifying award from the Mayor of Bath when they received 2nd place in the Best Dressed Chalet competition. Not bad for a first try!

Wylde staff will be raising their glasses to toast the roaring success that was their first year at the Bath Christmas Market. May it be the first of very many indeed.

All items of Nicholas Wylde jewellery can be made to your budget by varying the size and grade of stones, changing the metal or even designing a piece based on the above item. A special bespoke order may take up to five weeks which is made in our workshop. Bespoke items do not necessarily cost more than a pre-made item.
