This competition was a joint venture between the Bath Gin Company and Wylde Jewellers. Peter Meacock, the owner of the Bath Gin Company, and Nicholas Wylde, founder of the jewellers, developed the competition after bonding over their love of gin and in the spirit of creating a nationally appealing event based on two great businesses in Bath.
In a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory style competition, participants found tickets inside Bath Gin bottles with a unique code and entered through the Wylde Jewellers website. Apart from the grand prize, many smaller prizes were awarded each month the competition ran including gift sets of Bath Gin’s three flagship flavours, and jewellery cleaning kits from Wylde’s.
The winner was presented with a £10k Wylde Flower Diamond set inside a specially designed 1L Bath Gin bottle during a cocktail event at the Wylde shop in Bath.
Nicholas Wylde commented that the competition had been “a major success! Clients were so surprised to see the actual diamond-set bottle of gin in our shop window and couldn’t believe we were giving it away. It’s truly been wonderful to be able to bring our two beloved Bath based companies together with Bath’s own Wylde Flower Diamond”. Wylde now looks forward to hosting the winner again in order to professionally remove the patented diamond from the bottle and set it into a piece of bespoke jewellery in their workshop, after the winner has finished the gin inside.
The Bath Gin Company, established in the vaults of The Canary Gin Bar, collected together a team of experts and mixologists to set upon a long and determined process of infusion and distillation to arrive at this nectar of novels yet unborn. Inspired by Jane Austen, who loved a drink or two, and celebrating Bath, a crucible of fun and delight even before the Georgians arrived. In this process the team established beyond doubt the universally acknowledged truth that a fine city of good fortune is definitely in want of the best Gin.
In addition to their Bath Gin range, the Canary Gin bar also serves up 270 or so other gins, each paired with their own unique mixer and garnish to compliment them perfectly. You will also find the Bath Gin shop there and, apart from getting yourself some Bath Gin goodies, you can also bring an empty bottle to be filled from the Bath Gin range.
