Did you manage to come along to any of the fashion events which took place during Bath in Fashion week? We have been delighted to support Bath in Fashion over the past couple of years. It’s such a wonderful platform to showcase our jewellery alongside fashion and the latest trends.

This year’s catwalk at The Assembly Rooms on Friday 27th March was another great success and the feedback has been fantastic. We want to thank all those who helped to make the fashion show such a wonderful event and also a big thank you to all who came to visit us.

We very much look forward to participating again next year as it is a great opportunity for local businesses to contribute and support everything the city has to offer to local residents and visitors.

Fenwicks on New Bond Street is one of London’s finest department stores. A relaunch of its ground floor Jewellery Department is taking place in May this year and Nicholas Wylde has been given the opportunity to showcase the stunning Wylde Flower Diamond® brand. We are very excited to be able to introduce our beautiful Wylde Flower Diamond® into the heart of London at such a prestigious high class store. Nicholas will be in London during the first week introducing the Wylde Flower Diamond® so that staff are well informed when giving customers expert advice on the qualities of this special diamond and our jewellery collections.

It has been an ambition of Nicholas ever since opening his shop in 1987 to eventually have a presence in London. If you’re visiting the capital in May, come in and take a look at our beautiful display.

The West Front of Bath Abbey, painted by Joseph Mallord William Turner

The English painter Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) was one of the greatest romantic interpreters of nature in the history of Western art.

It has come to light that in his painting of Bath Abbey there is a shop situated on the left called Wylde. We would be delighted to learn more about this shop from this early century and if anyone has any knowledge or details please do let us know. Wouldn’t an old receipt or jewellery box be an excellent find deep in an attic or storage space!

"She who from April dates her years,
Diamonds shall wear, lest bitter tears
For vain repentance flow; this stone,
Emblem of innocence, is known."

For those who were born in the month of April the Diamond is the traditional birthstone.

The word Diamond is derived from the Greek word "adamas" which means "hardest metal" which reflect the property of the stone. It is the hardest substance known. The diamond as found in nature (called a rough diamond) is cut, for use in jewellery, into various forms with many reflecting facets, by which its brilliancy is much increased.
