‘Modern but with sentimental value’

If you have a collection of worn but well-loved items of jewellery, here at Nicholas Wylde we specialise in breathing new life into your sentimental past, to create a brand-new piece of jewellery for today and the future.

A great example of this is the work we recently did for Helen, resulting in a gorgeous  diamond and ruby multi-stone dress ring.  It consists of brown diamonds and rubies in 9ct yellow gold rubover settings randomly set amongst a 9ct yellow gold multi-strand design band with three 9ct white gold sections each with a diamond in a white gold rubover setting and smaller diamonds in grain settings.

Helen’s Story:

“I had a lovely selection of rings, both old and new, either given to me as gifts, or handed down through my family, all sitting in my jewellery box, unworn.  On recommendation of a friend, I approached Nicholas Wylde to see if they could help with creating one new ring out of my old ones.  There were specific rings I wished to use, two from my great grandmother and two from my husband, all holding sentimental value and I was determined that the stones from these items were included in any new one.  There was also a pair of 1970s large gold hoop earrings that my mum had given me, but was out of style now and had lost their engraved pattern.

India at Nicholas Wylde contacted me immediately, with an invite to come in with my items, to discuss options.  This I did and we sat and looked at different designs and discussed the style of ring I wanted.  She quickly went to work on designs, advising which stones would complement the other,  and we finally agreed on one design, utilizing several of the items I took with me, but not all.  India sent me the design for final approval and advised that in five weeks time my brand new ring would be available for collection.

I have never had anything personally designed for me before, and to start with a piece of jewellery as stunning as this new ring designed and produced by India and the goldsmiths at Nicholas Wylde, has just been wonderful.  I am so pleased with the finished item.  It is everything I wanted: modern but with the sentimental value.

So, if you are wondering what to do with your old items of jewellery, don’t sell them, have them recreated into something wonderful that you can wear and cherish.  Nicholas Wylde can do that for you”
