Here’s a great example of how gemstones from loved but worn old rings can have new life breathed into them as they are set in strikingly modern new jewellery in designs according to clients’ wishes. It’s something we love doing here at Nicholas Wylde, recreating jewellery items to make them fresh and different.
Sally relates her own story of creating something new from something old:
“After 35 years of marriage and constant wearing of my engagement ring, a shank repair was required as it had become very thin. After initial consultation with Nicholas Wylde on repair costs and no pressure from them on what to do we decided that the best option for us was to buy a brand new ring. They also advised that the gems from my old engagement ring could be made into a new item of jewellery if we so wanted.
A few appointments later (and also a trip to Hatton Gardens to weigh up our options) we went back to Nicholas Wylde in Bath to discuss our requirements. We built up a lovely friendly rapport with Sales Consultant Biagio and I was made to feel that they listened and were very keen to help design the ring of my dreams within budget.
We viewed gems, discussed styles and how it would fit next to my wedding ring. We came in to pick up the ring and while I was filled with trepidation and very emotional opening the box, the ring was everything that I had dreamed it would be. A first class service from start to finish and so very delighted with my new diamond engagement ring.”
