This 1920s, 18ct white gold, art deco, diamond and blue sapphire ring was brought into Wyldes recently to undergo extensive repairs. The head in particular was falling apart and losing stones. Nicholas, on examining the ring, realised that the piece was approximately 100 years old and decided to preserve the original features, including the hallmarks, as best as he possibly could. Recommending against what other jewellers might, in repairing and primarily replacing the entire ring, Nicholas worked to preserve as much of base setting as possible. He sourced stones to match the missing ones, and examined the design and reconstructed the original ring to the highest level of detail using the modern technology available in Wylde Workshops. It now has a completely new lease of life and can be worn again, fear-free, by our wonderful and delighted client!
